We will be performing at this year's Song Fight! Live in NYC. Here are the details. Check back later for when we're actually going on, if for some reason you can't make it to the entire show (but you really should).
Once again we are going to be participating in Song Fight! Live. This year it's in New York City, at Space on White and the venerable Sidewalk Cafe, June 11-12, 2011. So that we have something new to sell there, we are hard at work on our next album! The title is going to be Love and Monsters. Right now it is shaping up to be way better than anything we've done before, which means it might even aspire to mediocrity this time!
It is of course very different than foodsexsleep, but then again, our entire raison d'être is for that to be the norm, so in that sense we suppose it's more of the... different? In any case, we're very happy with how it's turning out.
More details as they emerge.
Short short sets, but there are lots of other people playing short short sets (it is a Song Fight thing) and it is a lot of fun. Also fluffy will be accompanying Octothorpe on the drums (just like old times!) and possibly making a few other cameo appearances as well.
- Wednesday, April 2: San Francisco: The Space Gallery at 8:00 PM
- Friday, April 4: Portland: Imbibe at... uh... some time in the evening.
- Saturday, April 5: Seattle: Finn MacCool's at 8:00 PM
- Sunday, April 6: Spokane: Brooklyn Nights at 7ish
- Monday, April 7: Moscow, Idaho: Student Union Building International Ballroom at 8:00 PM
I believe all the shows are 21+ except the one in Moscow which is all-ages but if you're over 21 what the hell are you doing in Moscow anyway?
As part of the Song Fight! Live West Coast North American Tour, Sockpuppet will be playing at Mr. Spot's Chai House in historic Ballard on Friday, March 30, sometime between 7:00 and 10:00 PM. There is awesome food and pretty good beer there. Other bands will include Octothorpe, Primitive Screwheads, one of Ken Mahru's many wonderful bands, Puce, and Mico Saudad, plus a whole bunch of others you've probably never heard of (though if you know about Sockpuppet you actually probably have heard of them, but whatever). Be there! (There is no alternative.)
Sockpuppet, among others, will be performing at The Bitter End Pub on Thursday, March 29, sometime between... er, some hour in the evening and some other hour in the evening. 8 PM? We're not in charge of booking this thing, so we're not entirely sure. We also don't know why we're referring to ourselves in the plural right now.
Spud, Mad Dog (vocalist of Octothorpe), and fluffy will be performing a few songs at the Mr. Spot's Chai House this week, mostly to pimp the March 30 show at the same venue. Starts at 7:30. Unplugged versions of Octothorpe songs are guaranteed, acoustic/solo versions of Sockpuppet songs are likely.
